NOTICE OF SEWER RATE INCREASE AND PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on December 8, 2025, the Town Council (the “Council”) of the Town of Superior, Montana (the “Town”), adopted a Resolution of Intention of the Town of Superior, Montana to Increase the Rates for the Users of the Municipal Sewer System (the “Resolution”).

The Council has determined it is necessary for the Town to increase its sewer rates to collect sufficient revenues to repay outstanding bonds payable from the revenues of its sewer system (the “System”), pay costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the System, and establish appropriate reserves.   

The Town currently charges users of the System a Base Rate Charge of $33.75 per Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU).  In addition, the Town charges a monthly Usage Charge of $1.89 per 1,000 gallons used per connection or proportionate charge for gallons of water used in excess of any 1,000 gallon increment. The Monthly Charge for the use and availability of the System is the sum of the Base Rate Charge and the Usage Charge.

Effective as of February 2026, the Base Rate Charge is proposed to be increased as follows:

The current Usage Charge would remain the same.  This proposed Base Rate increase represents an increase of approximately $7.00 over the current Base Rate Charge, or an increase of approximately 21%.

A public hearing on the rate increase will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, commencing at 6:00 p.m. at the Chambers of the Town Council, Town Hall, 105 Cedar Street, Superior, Montana.
